Ruby got sophie the giraffe from santa - not sure why every kid loves it so much, but she's no different.

The only thing Wyatt kept asking Santa for was a "fire truck that goes on and off and a hose that works." He didn't disappoint - next year Santa will have to assemble it instead of leaving mom and dad to put 200 pieces together on Christmas morning :)

We were having some with dinner the other night and ruby was sitting right next to me in her bumbo. I thought she might like a little bite - the texture was a little new, but she LOVED them. Guess i need to get on the ball and start the food process.

so Todd got me a flip camera for birthday/christmas - it is so great - cannot wait for christmas morning!

We went to the usual Timbuk Farms in Granville to get our tree - I think it was just as cold this year as last. Wyatt and Ruby were nice and bundled and the hot chocolate afterwards made everyone toasty.

Wyatt is on a new kick where he freaks out if i try to take his picture. "I do not want my picture taken mommy." ugh.

Overall it was a great great day and weekend with everyone in from out of town. Ruby is a pretty lucky girl!! Thank you all!!

Grandma O made Wyatt's gown a little more girly for Miss Ruby - with shoes to match. I LOVE this one with the light shining through the old windows.

trick-or-treat

Wyatt had so much fun this year - he still didn't know exactly what was going on, but figured it out very quickly when he came home and got to eat candy. Check out Todd's handy work on the pumpkins - bert, ernie and elmo took him a good 4/5 hours.

Ruby only made it to a few houses - it was freezing!

Quarter Horse Congress

Todd was insistent that we take Wyatt to the QHC at the state fairgrounds. After a bit of research I found out that it's lots of horse shows and some animals and such, so I thought we'd check it out. Needless to say we fit in pretty well - here is Wyatt standing in front of the "quarter horses" as Todd said (yes he was serious).

pigeon roost

We're all set for Halloween - each of us picked out a pumpkin at Pigeon Roost Farm this past weekend. It was such a perfect perfect day - I can't figure out why it wasn't totally packed!! Not sure what was Wyatt's favorite part - driving the tractor, apple cider or kettle corn. Miss Ruby slept almost the whole time :)

Playtime

It was so nice to be on maternity leave and be able to spend some quality time with Wyatt (and Ruby of course). He has quite an imagination as you can see by the family pictured below.

I remembered one morning how much fun forts were and had to build one.

NY Trip

The Lohse's were so nice to take care of us for a weekend in August. We had some fantastic meals, a few beers and some awesome company. It occurred to me that our kids are perfect ages - the boys a year apart and the girls a year apart as well. Wyatt and Eric had a blast together and soon Ruby and Sophia will too!

Cincinnati Zoo

We don't have giraffes at the Columbus zoo so I wanted to make sure and see them when we were visiting Cincy. Extra bonus - we got to feed them. Well worth the $1 cracker!!

Miss Ruby is quite the big girl - "off the charts" is what they said at her 2mo appt.

Summer Fun

Great Grandma Kunkel (aka LoLo) was in town earlier this summer. We had so much fun at "Wynnie and Uncle Ted's house."

Todd insisted on getting Wyatt the full set of real golf clubs - he mentioned something about it being an "investment for the future." All I know is that they're so heavy he can't swing them yet.

July 4th

Only a month or so late with these - could be worse :)

The Bexley Parade was fantastic as usual - the whole Orth crew was in town visiting the newest little cousin. The big kids, as usual, had so much fun together.

Big Brother

Wyatt loves his new little sister - not sure he will when everyone goes home and she stays, but for now we're totally enjoying it. Doesn't hurt that Ruby already bought him a police car, helicopter and book :)
